Shop the Pioneer Resources by category! Browse through the different sections to find resources that will help you grow in various aspects of the modern pioneer lifestyle!
Select a binder to store all your Pioneer Resources! Make sure you label the binder and keep it in a spot where you can regularly access it. You can even put dividers in the binder to categorize the different resources as needed. Using protective page covers can also be helpful for keeping your resources in good condition.
Browse through the Pioneer Resources Library and select which resources you need to build your homestead or which resources will be most beneficial to help you acquire pioneer life-skills. Check out with as many resources as you want (they are all free!) and download them to your computer or an external hard-drive.
Print off the resources you downloaded and hole punch them so you can add them to your binder! Now you can reference your Resource Binder whenever you need information to help you on your modern pioneer journey. Add to the binder as you grow on your pioneer journey and as we provide more free resources!
In this section of your binder, keep all your resources pertaining to the homestead garden. You can have resources that will help you start a garden, plan the garden each year, contain garden records, track harvest records, and anything else that will help you grow a homestead garden, whether big or small!
You can also keep information pertaining to garden soil, soil amendments, and composting in this section of your binder too!
Keep all your livestock resources in another section of your binder! Whether you start off with a homestead flock of chickens, or go all in with cattle, pigs, sheep, goats, and horses…. this section of your binder can be used for storing any information pertaining to the care of your homestead livestock.
Keep track of livestock health, dietary needs, special care, cleaning schedules, and anything else that will help you with the daily, monthly, and yearly care of your animals on the homestead.
Use this section of your binder to store any simple homestead recipes that you try or want to try in the future! You may even find that you need to categorize the recipes into sections such as meal recipes, desserts, snacks, homemade bread products, or condiment recipes.
Try to keep recipes in your resource binder that only use simple, wholesome ingredients. Recipes that can be made from scratch and sourced right from your homestead are ideal!
The home recipes section of your binder will be different than the recipes section because this is where you will keep recipes for home and bathroom products! Making cleaning products and personal care products from scratch are great pioneer life skills to master.
In this section, you can collect cleaning recipes such as homemade all-purpose cleaner, homemade glass cleaner, or homemade hand soap to list a few. And let’s not forget homemade lip balm, homemade shampoo, or homemade wound salve! The options are endless of home recipes to try!
In this section of your binder, collect resources that will help you build pioneer life skills. While technically all of the resources you include in your binder will help you build life skills, this section is kind of a miscellaneous section. For resources that don’t fit in any other section, put them here! Or maybe you don’t have enough resources to create a new section, just stick them in this section of the binder for now!
Miscellaneous life skills might include wilderness survival skills, sustainable shopping guides, sewing tutorials, and more!
Another good section to have in your Pioneer Resource Binder is a food preservation section. This section can contain all the resources pertaining to preserving food on the homestead, including canning, freezing, drying, root cellars, dehydrating, and more!
This is also a great place to keep a food preservation log. Keep track of how much food you preserve each year and when you preserve certain foods.
Need more resources to help fill up your binder? While these free Pioneer Resources can be helpful for gathering information and learning about specific aspects of the modern pioneer lifestyle, you may also need some practical resources.
Check out Pioneer Printables! These are resources that we provide for you to purchase and add to your binder. Pioneer Printables are more practical resources that will help you implement life skills on the homestead.
